Happy Halloween!
We had a fun time trick or treating in our new neighborhood with the boys tonight. There aren't a lot of houses around us and it was very dark! But the boys made out OK on the candy loot. And they also have all the candy from our house since it doesn't look like anyone came by. Colin was dressed as a Fire Chief and Owen was dressed like a pumpkin. They were both a big hit wherever they went!

Owen's Birthday Cake
Today we celebrated Owen's birthday with a cake. He really enjoyed looking at the fire on his candle but he wasn't a big fan of the cake itself. (although it was delicious!) He took a few licks, but mostly just threw his cake on the floor. He still managed to make a big mess and definitely had a good time doing it.
He's also gotten quite good at riding his Buzz Lightyear car from Grandma and Grandpa. He even knows how to hike his leg over it and get on and off. I was impressed!
The New House
Several fans of our site have requested some pictures of the new house. I don't want to overwhelm you, so I just took a few of the rooms we spend the most time in. There is one of the front of the house from the street, another of the study, one of the living room with our view out to the water and two of the kitchen. We are finally feeling settled in the new place and even got rid of all the cardboard this week!

Owen is ONE!
e
Owen celebrated his one-year birthday on October 26th. I honestly cannot believe it's been a whole year, seems like just yesterday I was holding him for the first time in the hospital. He's now a walking toddler, just amazing how quickly they grow. He celebrated with a mini Cheryl's cookie (thanks Amy!) on Tuesday and we're celebrating with cake this weekend. So look out for more pictures of the official cake mess!
He also had his first checkup with our new pediatrician here in Olympia today. He is doing very well developmentally, and here are his stats: He is 29 inches long and weighs 22 lbs 10 oz. He is in the 50th percentile for weight and only the 25th percentile for height and head size. He had 5 shots today, which made him very upset. He's weathered them well and was in pretty good spirits nonetheless.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY OWEN!

Colin is 4!
Today Master Colin is 4 years old! We cannot believe it, our little guy isn't so little anymore... He had a great day playing with Daddy and Owen and we celebrated in style this evening. Colin opened several gifts, including this great dump truck from Amy (can you tell it was love at first sight?). We made pizzas at home and then ate a delicious cake decorated in a Blue's Clues theme. We all ended up with blue mouths and Colin looked like a smurf. It was fun and we're looking forward to celebrating his birthday all weekend (and gearing up for Owen's first birthday next Tuesday!). HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLIN!

Our New House!
We wanted to share some pictures of us around the new house. The boys had a great time playing in the empty house before the "big truck" came to deliver all our furniture. Colin, of course, had a great time with the big truck when it came to make the delivery! He even got to sit in the cab and honk the horn! We have a wonderful view out the back of the house, a few of the pictures are from our deck. We have a walkway down to the beach along the sound, and Colin even spotted a jellyfish (dead) on the rocks the other day! Please send mommy an email at runnerjen@gmail.com if you'd like our new mailing address and phone number. We'd love to hear from you!
Grandma and Grandpa
Grandma and Grandpa came to help us with all the happenings around the new house. They were so helpful with the boys and very nice to have around with everything going on at once. Extra hands are always helpful! Here are some shots of them with the boys. We can't thank them enough for all their help!
Trip to Washington
For those of you who don't know, we've relocated to Washington State now. We live in Olympia, about an hour south of Seattle. Mommy started a new job working for the State Investment Board here in Olympia. We have a wonderful new house with a view of an inlet of the Puget Sound. Plenty of space for us to spread out, which is awesome. Here is a picture of the boys on the airplane to Washington (after the trip to and from England we were pros at flying!). Owen also loves wearing his trick or treat bag as a hat.
England 2010
b
After a long time without posting, we are back! Many apologies for the delay, we've had a LOT going on. The past month has brought a 2 week vacation to England, selling our house in Ohio, moving across the country to Washington State, mommy starting a new job, living in a hotel for a week, moving into an empty house and then finally our furniture arriving from Ohio. We are starting to unpack now, but back on line and promise to post many new pictures!
These are some shots from our trip to England. We had a wonderful time and really savored some much-needed family time together. Owen dazzled us with some new skills... he started walking! It was about a week before he turned 11 months, and he's really picked up his skills quickly. Now he can walk, bend down to pick something up and then stand back up and walk away on his own. All before his first birthday! He also got his very first tooth in England as well. His bottom left front tooth popped through first.
We also discovered one of Colin's favorite things on Earth - CUSTARD! He gobbles the stuff up like there is no tomorrow. (As you can see in one of the pictures) He had a great time enjoying all the treats that England has to offer.
