Colin Starts Kindergarten!

Colin started Kindergarten this morning at LP Brown Elementary. We are so proud of him and excited for the year ahead!

It's been ages since I updated, many apologies!

We've had some fun visiting a local pool with many fun water features for the kids - including sprinklers and a wave pool. We also took the kids on a hike that ended with throwing rocks in the river.

Busy month of July!

We've had a busy month of July! The boys enjoyed modeling their shirts (this is now the 5th summer in a row we've had a boy to wear the yellow jersey in our house!), setting off fireworks and playing at a traveling fair that comes into town for a weekend every July.

The other big events in our house include Owen being almost completely potty trained and also Owen learning to pedal a bike! Colin got a new bigger bike (16 inch) and Owen immediately seemed to learn how to pedal his big wheel. It's been a fun month!!

Trip to the Tetons!

We just got home from a great visit to Jackson Hole to visit friends (and mommy ran a race in Sheridan, WY as well - check our her story at ultrarunnerjen.blogspot.com). The boys had a great time playing with Mason (8) and Ellie (3) and exploring the mountains and Jackson. We made it a road trip, passing through Montana, where it managed to snow on us during our drive. The boys played at parks, went to brew pubs, saw moose, took a boat across Jenny Lake in the Tetons, hiked to hidden falls and saw a marmot. It was a great trip! The pictures show how beautiful everything was!

A Visit From Grandma!

The boys had a wonderful time with Grandma visiting last week! They planted flowers, rode their scooters, blew bubbles, played video games, made cookies, went shopping (Owen's favorite store right now is REI), read books, played blocks and had lots of fun! The boys also showed off their backpacks and played pretend "going to school."

Tis the season for amazing sunsets from our back deck! Here are some of the latest!

He said WHAT?

"Sometime we should make Banana Fosters. They are cool because you get to light them on fire."
"He's my assistant." (talking about Owen, of course)
(When talking about exotic animals that were coming to summer camp) "I wonder if they will be alive or dead."
"It would be nice if we could find a short trail that leads to Jackson Hole."
Colin: "Mommy, guess what we found?" Mommy: "What?" Colin: "NOTHING!"
"Life is good when you have Candy."
"The Earth is as strong as a hundred million elephants!"
"Let's go be entertained."
"Is Limbo a big city?" (we were talking about something being stuck "in limbo" and Colin asked this question)
When asked who won the Oxford-Cambridge boat race Colin said "The yellow team won, the one daddy LOVES!" (Oxford)
"Owen, let's go back to the holo-detector!" (referring to the closet)
"Don't see that on Animal Planet."
"Did the sky scrape all of the clouds away?"
"I can easily just take off any baby locks on the cabinets. Owen and I are partners in time." (crime)
"Baby Jason" (known as Baby Jesus to the rest of the world)
"I think it's OK, I don't see the prosecutor."
"How about some surprise chocolate for dinner?"
"Why is she just SO SO nice, Daddy?" (talking about our dear friend Amy)
"Nevermind. Blah Blah Blah Blah."
"Put a Hair Pony on her Mommy." (talking about a pony tail)
"This (Ice Cream Sandwich) should do the trick."
"If you get hurt you need to kiss yourself to make it better."
"See what these tater tots are made from? They are made from ketchup!"
"I need another popsicle because I'm still hot inside."
"Is Owen going to eat today?"
"The bigger you get the bigger your hair gets."
"Are those workers from South Dakota?" (no idea where he got South Dakota!)
"Can't we just forget about it?" (when being told to take a time out for misbehaving)
"I could just brew beer by myself."
"Mommy, am I doing tummy time?" (while lying face first in the snow)
"Toxic Moron" (an Oxymoron)
"When I hold my fingers too long I get dizzy."
"Don't do that. If you do it again you're going for a time out."
"Where was this rocking chair made? Was it made in China?"
"I'd rather be playing football (English football = soccer) but it's so cold outside I have to shovel instead."
"I can't wait until I can swim again. I want to dive right in."
"Can we play these? I think we have time. Let me check the clock."
"Mommy, do you still have the hug that I gave you last night?"
"I'll be back in a jiffy pop, so I don't need a coat."
"I think all three fire engines have to go to the fire because they can't stay home alone."
"But I do have some patience."
"When Daddy goes around the corners in the fast car I laugh!"
"When I sworded Daffy (the cat), she didn't move at all! Not one little bit!"
"When I grow up I want to be just like you (Daddy)"
"Oh I love Thanksgiving! I can't wait to go trick-or-treating!"
"You should have two drills in case we meet a goat."

"Awww...Could we keep him (Owen) until winter?"
"I've been diving for that at Costco." (when receiving a helicopter from grandparents for his birthday, one he's been dying for at Costco)
"My diggers are not going to work on my birthday because I'm going to be at Chipotle"
"We could just make time to do it then."
"Mommy, why do you say "No" all the time?"
"That's the biggest digger I've seen in my whole life!"
"There were kind of sort of 5 forklifts at Costco."
"I did take a nap. I took a 5 second nap."
"When I was a cat, I used to eat cat food."
"I put chap stick on my nose so it doesn't rust."
"I wish you hadn't moved the house."
"I can't hear you, Mommy. I'm busy."
"Because I said so, Mommy. I'm the boss."
"I want cookies! I'm going to starve soon."
"I like cream cheese. It is tasty and yummy for my belly."
"The baby in MY belly likes to eat malt."
"There's a mustache on my finger."
"This soap smells delicious!"
"I'll bring you some air to cool you down."
"Do we take an airplane to Heaven?"
"Digging in the dirt is hard on little Colins."
"We just passed the house with the pizza. I like to go there!" (After we'd just driven by Donatos)
"When I drink my juice, Mommy, the snacks go away in my mouth!"
"Don't talk back to me, Mommy."
"The tire is low, Mommy. We should put some gas in it."
"Tor-nade-us" (referring to a Praying Mantis)
"There's a baby in my belly."
